Audio Recording Studio

Musical and audio production of the highest standard In This Country

History

The recording studio has been established since 1976.

The studio is primarily designed to be used as a facility for writing music. It offers a vast array of highly advanced software and hardware to create complex and detailed musical works. There is also the ability to directly record live instruments either locally in the studio or at remote locations.

My Experience

I can offer Forty eight years of direct experience working in and building the studio

My entire career has been spent working in the Audio Industry in Broadcasting, Education and pre and post production in Radio and Television professionally.

My experience includes working in audio at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in both Radio and Television. (ABC) This experience has enabled me to work directly with Creators, Producers and Directors.

I have the ability in production to create the tone and feel of music quickly and professionally.

I am a flute player, however I have also spent my life studying and playing piano for composition purposes. I also have very high skills in working with computers and software.

I am able to tailor entire hardware systems, including audio hardware, computer hardware and computer software specifically for audio production.

I am now working with an extremely fast computer. This system is showing great promise. It is allowing more than 32 tracks of 48k audio recording directly to hard drive with zero latency,

The computer is configured to offer a wide range of synthesizer, VST, effects and direct audio recording.

The computer is also extremely robust in the speed of the CPUs, Memory, and hard disc capacity.

Included in the system is a full range of the tonalities of complete symphony orchestras along with traditional and contemporary real instrument and ethnic instrument sounds.

This configuration also offers a wide range of synthesizers including both VST and hardware devices.

It should also be understood that any external sound can be used as the basis for a musical instrument through digital sampling. This can be done either in the software itself, or indeed, in the application of a VST software emulation of a Fairlight CMI and other VST software samplers.

The Orchestral instruments are truly refined in character, and show the tonal quality, colour and textures of the real instruments of an orchestra.

This means that the studio is now capable of music production equal to the standards required for symphony orchestras, Full Broadcasting standards and Cinema production up to and exceeding IMAX Theatre productions.

It also offers the ability for produced music to be written and printed to orchestral or chamber music scores, including any particular scoring method suitable for live performers so that the score can be easily written, edited and understood.

This also includes the ability to render the positioning of instruments and sound effects in a broadcast facility designed to include 9.1 Surround Sound, in addition to a secondary set of speakers for the production of Atmos.

This means that each instrument can be individually addressed to appear to the audience, in any required position encircling the listener. These factors can be “hard written” into the framework of the composition.

Recording Sudio

Since 1976 I have been accumulating materials in order to produce music. These instruments have followed the complete history of music production since that time. They originally included 1/4in tape recorders and very early computers and synthesizers.

The computer system has been updated or replaced many times through the years. This has happened because computers hardware and software are the most transitory of all instruments. The computer remains today at “state of the art”. (Circa 2020) and remains contemporary today (2024-2025)

There is also a range of many REAL instruments located at the studio including guitars, flutes, a cello, drums, etc.

Examples Of My Original Music And A Forward Warning.

Note: Most of the time the titles of the works are simply made as a quick method of saving the work, they do not bear much (if any) reference to the actual style of the music itself.

Note also:

If you would like to download any of this music then before you do so, please TALK TO ME. and inform me of your intention to do so, and your reason why.

If you choose to download any of these pieces of music without informing me and requesting my express permission, then I would regard the action as stealing. You would be in immediate breach of international copyright law.

Writing music is my life, and my primary source of income. If you choose to violate this trust then I will regard this as an act of harm towards me. I will take immediate action against you to ensure the safety of my life’s works.

The pieces of music which I write are written in such a way as to be completely original. If I ever feel that I have heard something like it before, then I will cease to write the piece and delete it. Because of this behaviour, these pieces are genuinely original and should be regarded as so by anyone listening.

There are photographs of the studio at the top and bottom of the page. Please have a look. It is my intention to also post descriptions of some of the instruments and devices which I use on a regular basis, however this will undoubtedly prove to be very time consuming, and labour intensive….. (stay tuned)

It is also my intention to eventually include all of my compositions on this page in their entirety. As there are an estimated 500 pieces of original music, this will take some time to complete.

Again, please stay tuned.
